The Eye of the Storm was wonderful. For many years I have felt that I have been the lone voice in the wilderness (I used to think of myself as a self-proclaimed "Chicken Little") and I now feel that I have partners in my community! It is so exciting and yet a little daunting! I don't know just where this will lead in the end, but I am willing and happy to be a partner.
I am very hopeful that everyone will take one small piece of the day and put it into action. Personal responsiblity is and always has been the key to being ready for disasters. And you all can do it!
As a quick aside - my phone number listed on the Eye of the Storm site has changed since the storm. The number is now 642-9340. During the storm I set up a recorded message providing information to callers when I was unavailable. Now that I am back at the desk, I am answering the phone myself and have eliminated the recorded messages, necessitating some changes in the phone system.
Nanci - thank you so much. I know how much effort and time you have dedicated to your community. You are to be commended. It is an honor to work with and aside you in service to the Peninsula!
